I spend a lot of time sifting through Youtube’s flotsam and jetsam to find quality content. If you spend enough time dialing in your media diet, and training your algorithm, you can find some edutaining content. Not long ago I found an obscure channel by Michael Martin, and he makes quite an interesting forecast for spring of 2025. He foresees “...people getting more interested in psychotherapy using psychedelics.”
Woo Woo Warning
Just about everywhere I turn, look, read, watch or listen nowadays, I see science and spirituality merging. I saw more of this at the Psychedelic Science Summit in Mexico city a couple of weekends ago. I always point to the television series The X-Files.
The show was well ahead of its time, symbolizing the convergence of science and spirituality. The tension between Mulder the mystic and Scully the scientist drove the show’s story arc. The Venn diagram overlap of science and spirituality is no longer television show fodder. This is happening in the real world today, and in the psychedelics field in particular.
Science and spirituality are on the verge of kissing and this excites me. I always try to tiptoe on the tightrope between the two worlds, as it provides open-mindedness and grounding at the same time. The tao, or the fine line between yin and yang, is where all the fun, mysterious and mind-manifesting things happen.
This world view allows me to engage with, and sometimes embrace “woo woo.” I love using the phrase because it carries a charged connotation, and just sounds pleasant rolling off the tongue. Moreover, I love woo woo because it holds the most fascinating and fringe topics and ideas. So brace yourself, because this conversation is about to get woo woo.
Woo Woo Interfacing
I don’t know enough about astrology to speak about it with confidence. Although I’ve had my fortune told once by street gypsies in Gdansk, and had my palm read once, I’m not astrology informed. I also don’t believe everything woo woo or astrology-related is real, true or accurate. For example, crystals, ear candling, and magnet therapy cross my boundary. I take things like astrology and palm reading with a grain of salt, while allowing myself to see that sometimes woo woo can become reality.
Maybe the best way to conceive woo woo is like juggling. The ball is in your hand sometimes, and you know it’s real because it’s tangible. The ball isn’t any less real when it’s out of your hand and you don’t feel it. Woo woo does a teasing dance and flirts in and out of life without empirical proof it was ever there. People have done the dance who you might not expect.
Two famous figures come to mind in regards to astrology. The first is Ronald Reagan. Never forget that Joan Quigley was Ronald Reagan’s astrologer, and claims to have softened his stance towards the Soviet Union. Under Reagan’s macho cowboy veneer, he believed in woo woo. The other notable person is Carl Jung.
Jung’s work provides ample support for spiritual phenomena. He may have been the original Mulder. Of course, Jung holds preeminence among today’s psychedelic community, and therapists in particular. However, people may not know that he had profound interest in mysticism, esotericism and astrology. You can learn more in the video below. So before you write off what you’re about to read, keep Reagan and Jung in mind, and suspend your disbelief.
An Astrological Prediction for 2025
I found Michael Martin not long ago. I never heard of him before and knew nothing of his work. He’s the Youtube type that attracts me. Soft-spoken, erudite, on the fringe, and has the courage to not give a damn what anyone thinks about his ideas. These people tend to be the gold nuggets in Youtube’s Mississippi of content.
The name of Martin’s video is Astrology, Politics, and the Archons: 2024-2025. I will cue his video to start when he mentions psychedelics. However, I find the entire video to be quite interesting. Be forewarned that in the preceding 15 minutes, he discusses politics. He’s not the retail politics type, so his perspectives might be unpalatable to some. Nevertheless, his political commentary sets the table for his astrological prediction, and it’s worth the time to watch the whole video.
Martin’s astrological forecast rests on Neptune moving into Aries on March 31st, 2025. To be more accurate, he says Neptune moves into Aries on April 1, or April Fool’s Day. This fact conjures thoughts of the cosmic trickster archetype. And what’s more trickstery than psychedelics?
Martin says that there is a “vibe shift” coming in 2025, and that we’ll “start over.” He mentions that this is the true “Great Reset” and that this shift will “usher in an era of spirituality and optimism.” He follows up by stating that “people are getting more interested in psychotherapy using psychedelics.” Here, watch for yourself.
Martin is careful to note that psychedelics can have a “bad side” too, and I agree. Regardless I find his prognostication juicy and intriguing. There are a couple of curious things about his theory. You can tell that Martin doesn’t fit the woo woo stereotype. Also, his astrological foretelling isn’t unique.
More Support for Increased Interest in Psychedelics
Once I watched the video, the idea enthused me and I tried to find further information to back it up posthaste. After a few minutes searching, I found this article- Neptune Entering Aries: A New Era of Global and Personal Awakening; Igniting a New Era of Spiritual Action and Global Transformation.
Now I’m not sure how much credibility a website called “Astrosofa” holds. Just remember, we’re juggling here. Also, the article never makes explicit mention of psychedelics. However, it does convey ideas that subsume psychedelics. The opening paragraph states:
On March 31st, 2025, Neptune will transition from the dreamy and boundless waters of Pisces into the bold, action-oriented sign of Aries. This monumental shift is more than just an astrological event; it's a catalyst for a new collective consciousness, sparking revolutions in how we perceive identity, action, and the divine. Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusions, spirituality, and collective consciousness, entering fiery Aries will ignite profound changes on both personal and global levels.
Divine is the key word here. Sure, it’s convenient that my Substack is called The Divine Influx. I chose that because it reflects a larger vibe check. People are hungry, if not starving, for the divine and divine experiences. Full disclosure, I was born in April, thus I’m Aries, which makes this all that more mind-manifesting.
The whole article makes for a worthwhile read. I think it does a fine job sizing up the current moment and what’s happening in the zeitgeist. It also states:
In evolutionary astrology, this conjunction invites you to explore your inner world and revisit past beliefs. The retrograde motion suggests rethinking old ideas about spirituality, self-identity, and purpose. You may feel called to re-examine your mental patterns and let go of limiting thoughts that no longer serve your growth. Be cautious of miscommunication during this period, both in personal relationships and on a larger scale, as intentions may be easily misconstrued.
If this doesn’t sound like website copy for a psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist or for a plant medicine retreat, what does? Before the piece closes, it hits another home run.
Globally, this could manifest as a struggle between the need for material security (Moon in Taurus) and the desire for spiritual freedom and innovation (Neptune in Aries). There may be economic tensions as people seek to balance their financial stability with their evolving spiritual values.
I won’t light this powder keg’s wick here; as I can write reams about various socioeconomic fronts at the moment. That said, more and more evidence is surfacing of American, and Western, economic pain. The economy has downshifted from thriving to surviving, and a lot of people are having a bad trip.
“A Revolutionary Change of Consciousness”
In his video, Martin says that Neptune in Aries will bring “a revolutionary change of consciousness.” I have no idea if this will come to pass, and I hope it will. With the current state of events around the world, I feel that the moment calls for something like this. Earth could use a cosmic intervention and if that is astrology, supernatural, or woo woo, so be it. A divine influx maybe?
Anyone not living in a bubble, or with intellectual honesty or intuition, can feel that we’re getting squeezed in an outdated version of the world that no longer fits our needs. This applies to Americans and all global citizens. We’ve outgrown our old clothes, but don’t have new ones to put on yet. The world is in desperate need of change or even more pain and suffering will ensue.
Keep in mind that a “change in consciousness” doesn’t have to be mystical or grandiose. We don’t all have to start levitating in lotus flower position, being telepathic, or gain sudden access to the Akashic records. Any one of these would be awesome though. Alien contact isn’t even necessary, and that topic is heating up more and more. A change in consciousness can be a simple increase of awareness.
A change in consciousness can be as simple as realizing that we’re living in an era of systematic corruption, inequality, injustice and an ongoing list of societal ills. A change in consciousness can mean we now see all of it, need to change it, and have to get to work manifesting an updated world that fits us.
Remember to keep juggling and keep your eye on the ball. The trickster still wants us to have fun while it’s darkest right before the dawn.
